Skipton Market

About The Market

Skipton Market

Skipton Market is an outdoor market which operates every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday throughout the year on Skipton High Street. Generally, market trading hours are from 9am to 4.30pm.

There are occasional additional market days, particularly on the approach to Christmas.
Market stalls and pitches are located on a cobbled area between the main road and the footpaths. The Market forms an integral part of the Town Centre shopping experience in Skipton with market stalls operating directly alongside shops lining the main High Street.

The Market Authority, under the provisions of the Food Act 1984, is Skipton Town Council who administer the Market on behalf of Skipton Castle, the owners of the Market Charter.

As of 1st April 2022, we now offer a Monday Incentive Scheme for any new businesses wishing to stand on Skipton Market.

The Scheme entitles the trader to 8 free, consecutive Mondays, where the trader will be able to stand on Skipton Market free of charge on one of the council run pitches.

A 3mx3m gazebo, weights, and tables can be provided free of charge.

This allows you to get a taste of the market life.

Skipton Town Council welcomes applications from traders to stand on the famous, award-winning, Skipton Market.
