Council Committees

Skipton Town Council has regular meetings of its Full Council. There are also four other committees and one sub-committee which deal with the day-to-day business of the Council, reporting back to the Full Council where appropriate.

NEWSLETTER AND ANNUAL REPORT

Once every quarter Skipton Town Council releases a newsletter which we circulate to every household in the parish. These contain information about the services we provide, how to contact your local Councillors and Officers, and news about what we've been doing in our community over the last few months.

History Of The Council

Skipton Town Council came into being as part of the restructuring of local government in 1974. The former Skipton Urban District Council ceased to exist at this time, dividing its resposibilities between the newly created local authorities - of which the Town Council is a part.
